COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Site Closing

Press Release

June 25, 2024

Albany, GA— The Southwest Health District announces that the last day for drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the Dougherty County Health Department will be Friday, June 28, 2024.

We encourage community members to use our convenient testing kiosks, available at both the Dougherty County Health Department (1710 S. Slappey Blvd., Albany, GA 31701) and the Colquitt County Health Department (214 West Central Ave., Moultrie, GA 31768). These kiosks offer access to COVID-19 tests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The kiosks provide a test kit that includes two (2) nasal swabs for COVID-19 and Influenza A/Influenza B, along with instructions for specimen collection. Once collected, specimens can be securely packaged back into the kit and placed in the kiosk. Specimens are picked up daily and sent to an accredited lab for PCR testing, with most individuals receiving their results via email or text within 48 hours of collection.

Pre-registration for kiosk testing is not required but is available at https://register.testandgo.com/. There is no out-of-pocket cost for tests provided through the kiosks; however, insurance will be billed for those with coverage.

Free COVID-19 test kits are also available statewide at county health departments.

COVID-19 testing, alongside vaccination, is a critical measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19. For more information about COVID-19, visit https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19.
