Family Planning


The Southwest Health District of the Georgia Department of Public Health is committed to providing accessible women’s health and family planning services to individuals of all ages, irrespective of income, across our 14 county health departments and Farmworker Clinics. Our services encompass a wide range of offerings tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community.

Our Family Planning program within the Southwest Health District offers leadership, guidance, and resources specific to our region, aiming to address the unique health concerns of women. We offer comprehensive healthcare services designed to assist women in planning pregnancies, preventing unintended pregnancies, selecting suitable birth control methods, and enhancing the overall health and wellness of families in our district. Birth Control Options:

The Southwest Health Districts offers confidential visits, women’s preventative health exams, health education, counseling, pregnancy testing and counseling, screening for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, as well as cervical and breast cancer screening are also available.


Planning Your Visit

Call your local health department to schedule an appointment. Same-day or specific day appointment may be available. At the time of your visit, you will be asked about your household income and family size, but proof of income is not required to receive care.
