Thank you for visiting the Southwest Health District website. I hope you will find our site a useful tool for learning about the many programs and services available through our health district and county health departments.

Part of the Georgia Department of Public Health, Southwest Health District’s mission is to prevent disease, injury and disability; promote health and wellbeing and prepare for and respond to disasters in the 14 counties we encompass. We also strive to be a primary source of reliable health information to the residents in the counties we serve.

We offer a wide range of healthcare services – including family planning, cancer screening, immunizations, dental care, child health and hypertension management – to those with and without health insurance. Also, we provide many non-clinical services like restaurant inspections, emergency preparedness and response training and ServSafe food service training.
